Pension Barbakán is situated in the historic town center of Cesky Krumlov. The building has been reconstructed between 1996 and 2000 and was refurbished into an accomodation offering 6 two bedded and 2 three bedded rooms.
History of the Building
Formerly, this building was meant to be a tower, part of the city wall fortification. Here the gunpowder used to be stored. Today's relatively complicated structure was likely built in several levels on the site of an older structure in the 18th century.
Other designs are visible from the 19th and 20th century. The entire structure was significantly reconstructed in 1996. Among significant architectural details you can see classical gables of both buildings, cellars, and terraces.
